Discover the Harvest Route: a nature safari through Las Coloradas

Embark on an unforgettable journey aboard a panoramic safari-style truck, equipped with a roof and comfortable seating. This tour takes you through a one-of-a-kind salt lagoon system within the Ría Lagartos Biosphere Reserve, a protected area rich in biodiversity and natural wonder.

Along the way, you'll have the chance to spot aquatic bird species — including, depending on the season, the iconic Caribbean pink flamingo.
An expert guide will share fascinating insights into the region's ecosystems and natural heritage.

Next, you’ll explore the heart of Mexico’s largest salt lagoon: the Sal Sol production plant. See firsthand how sea salt is naturally formed through evaporation, watch salt crystals develop across the salt flats, and marvel at a towering white salt mountain that evokes a lunar landscape. During the harvest season, you may even witness live salt collection using specialized machinery.

The tour ends with a breathtaking view of the vibrant pink lagoons — the image that has made Las Coloradas famous. A truly enriching experience that blends nature, knowledge, and unforgettable scenery.
